We have the absolute pleasure of announcing the newest promotion at Carolina PT- Matthew Ulcak, DPT is the new director of our Forest Acres location! Although Matthew is not a new face in the clinic, we want to take this time to recognize the hard work he’s contributed to Carolina Physical Therapy, as well as the dedication and expertise he has applied to treating patients.
Matthew is originally from Texas where he graduated from Texas Tech University, receiving his Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise and Sports Sciences. He continued his studies at Texas Tech, and received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2018. Matthew found his passion for outpatient physical therapy through his clinical internships with high school and collegiate athletes as well as worker’s compensation patients. He has earned his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification and is working towards becoming an Orthopedic Certified Specialist through the ABPTS. He also has certifications in Trigger Point Dry Needling, Vestibular Rehabilitation and Blood Flow Restriction Training.
Matthew is married to his wife, Savannah, who is also a physical therapist. They have two dogs, Sampson, an Australian Shepherd, and Rylie, a Goldendoodle. They are active with hiking, paddle boarding, running and hanging out at local breweries with their friends. Matthew and Savannah both have passion for running- they both love running in multiple half marathons! This has led to Matthew taking a passion in treating runners’ injuries and other sports injuries, such as ACL repairs, meniscus repairs, and shoulder injuries.
Congratulations, Matthew! We can’t wait to see the impact you have on not only the clinic, but your patients’ lives as well!
