New Clinic Director, Katie Hicks!
We are thrilled to introduce you to our newest addition to the team, DPT Katie, DPT OCS! Katie is the Clinic Director of our North Charleston clinic!
Here at Carolina Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine, we believe in not only providing exceptional care to our patients but also in celebrating the talented individuals who make up our team. Katie brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, and dedication to our practice, and we can’t wait for you to get to know her better.
Katie Hicks received her bachelor’s degree from Loyola Marymount University and graduated from the University of Montana with her Doctor of Physical Therapy. Additionally, she worked as a graduate assistant for the Neural Injury Center, performing testing and research collection for traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) under a grant from the Department of Veterans Affairs. Following graduation, she completed a residency in orthopedic manual therapy and is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy. She is also certified in concussion management and trigger point dry-needling.
Katie’s Personal Life
Katie has a strong background in athletics and has participated in a variety of sports throughout her life. In college, she was a Division I swimmer and water polo player and enjoys working with overhead athletes. She has an interest in treating hip pain, running injuries, and the shoulder, but loves all aspects of physical therapy from weekend warriors to the elderly. In her free time, she likes to scuba dive, travel, fish, hunt, camp, and be outdoors enjoying God’s creation. She recently gave birth to her first son, PJ, who will be 1 year old in July.
