Happy 1 year, Gilbert!
Carolina Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine marked the one-year anniversary of its Gilbert location on July 10, 2024, in style! The day was filled with giveaways, tasty treats, engaging conversations, and a cake smash! Watch our recap video of the event and delve into this blog post to honor our Gilbert team and reflect on their accomplishments over the past year.
If you saw the photos from the party, you might recognize some of our vibrant patients who brighten our clinic. One standout is a patient who, after a total shoulder replacement, returned to construction work and playing guitar in his band. How awesome is that! We had a blast celebrating with our team and community, and we wrapped up a fantastic day with a cake smash right to Christen’s face! When we asked her how it was, she said “knowing the cake smash was going to happen, I never could have expected the thickness of the icing across my face! That cake from Publix was tasty though!”

We asked Christen about her favorite success story involving a patient from Gilbert from the previous year
“We have too many favorites! Of course, my favorite is hearing how well patients are doing after treatment. Our clinic is located in a busy shopping center and ¼ of them probably get their hair cut next door. They’ll pop in to make sure we’re behaving when we should be asking them! Small victories are just as exciting, like hearing a patient say ‘I was able to do xyz’!”
The Growth and Development of our Gilbert Location
Opening a new location can present its own set of challenges. Initially, Christen split her time between clinics during the first four weeks due to the Gilbert clinic’s limited caseload. As time passed, Christen transitioned to dedicating all her time to our Gilbert patients. Not long after, they had enough caseload to bring on Amy, a part-time physical therapist, in March and Collin, a part-time PT aide, in June. The progress at our Gilbert location over the past year has been impressive, and we eagerly anticipate future growth!
We would also like to express our gratitude to other team members who have assisted with treatments when needed. A big thank you to Chris Ballew, PT, Partner; Brad Saunders, DPT, Practice Manager; Bill Sullivan, MPT, Director at Lexington/West Columbia; Ben Ashton, DPT, Director at White Knoll; and Alana Wilson, PTA, Assistant Director at Downtown.
The Future of Carolina PT in Gilbert
We are excited to continue growing our Gilbert clinic and remain committed to patient care and community involvement. Our main goal is to help our patients get back to feeling their best. We prioritize offering appointment times that work for everyone, including our patients and staff. Additionally, we are always learning and improving by collaborating with other therapists, staying up-to-date with the latest articles, and attending educational events. Continuous learning is a daily practice for us. We are also proud to support students and new therapists who join our team, helping them become excellent practitioners.
One final note from Christen
We also want to thank every patient and doctor that has chosen and trusted us to treat them, friends, neighbors, and their patients. We would not be here without you. Thank you for a great year and the best is yet to come!
Thank you!
This celebration would not have been possible without each and every one of you! Our patients and community play a vital role in our success alongside our Carolina PT team. Serving the Lexington/Gilbert community fills us with pride, and we eagerly anticipate many more years of enjoyable and effective physical therapy sessions.
